Matt Miwa

Matt Miwa is an Ottawa-Gatineau based Theatre and Performance artist and a cultural activator working with Ottawa-Gatineau's Japanese heritage community.  This coming November, in partnership with CUAG (Carleton University Art Gallery), the OJCA (Ottawa Japanese Community Association) and the embassy of Japan in Ottawa, Matt will produce the third iteration of Tomoni/GO Together, a fabulous variety show featuring Japanese cultural performers across a variety of disciplines collaborating with invited artists from outside the Japanese community.  Since the pandemic, Matt has turned to black and white illustration and is currently working towards his first solo show.  A jack of all trades, and a master of...some, Matt also enjoys dancing odori (Japanese folk) with local group Minyo-kai, is a happy tenor 2 in the Coeur gai d'Ottawa Gay Mens' Chorus, and is currently the front guy in the band Gab.
