Composed of Kalun Leung (trombone) and Émilie Fortin (trumpet), ék is an interdisciplinary physical theater and sound project that combines visual comedy, clowning, pantomime, and an improvised mimetic sound vocabulary reminiscent of “sound effects.”
Inspired by gestural music, ék draws on a range of artistic practices to create new works by interweaving mime and sound in surprising ways, incorporating their own training in extended brass techniques and improvisation.
