On behalf of the entire Radio-Hull team, we acknowledge that this festival takes place on the ancestral, unceded territory of the Anishnabeg Nation, which has inhabited the Outaouais (from the Anishinaabemowin word “adawe”) for millennia. Each year, Radio-Hull creates a temporary, ephemeral soundspace in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, providing a platform for local artists. Through this statement, we acknowledge that it is the rich history of the Anishinaabe nations that has shaped this region, its territories, and the culture expressed here today.

Since 2020, Radio-Hull has been bringing together local creators to transform the DAÏMÔN Center into a platform for broadcasting digital audio works to the broader Gatineau community. For this edition, which marks the center’s 40th anniversary, guest curator Marc A. Reinhardt explores different geographies and ecologies of radio transmission to engage with and respond to the disruptions of the moment.

Radio-Hull 2026 program explores how to navigate an increasingly polarized world in which technologies that bring hope and the promise of collective emancipation also contribute to the degradation of the environment and the bonds that unite us. PAN PAN! How can we turn a distress signal into a cry of joy, a shared resonance that transcends what divides us?
