Simone Provencher
Simone Provencher is a musician and analog circuit designer based in Montreal. Alongside her exploratory and improvisational music practices, she is interested in sound manipulation and the malleability of electronic signals. She approaches analog electronics—built by hand whenever possible—as an almost traditional craft, preserving methods and approaches often considered outdated by applying them to new explorations; She is interested in the pragmatic, aesthetic, and sonic consequences that arise from the steadfast use of these technologies. She invests a great deal of energy in designing instruments, interfaces, and objects that facilitate a seamless connection between a sensitive instrumental practice and the abstract possibilities of electronic sound sources.
