Un bain pour s'attendrir | Andrée Préfontaine

The audio work “UN BAIN POUR S'ATTENDRIR” originated from an email correspondence between Andrée Préfontaine and Massimo Guerrera. An interview precedes the work, providing a summary of their exchanges.

Based on their daily reflections, Andrée and Massimo exchanged written thoughts related to observations of their surroundings, the meanderings of their minds, and their intuitions of the moment. These email exchanges were then read by their respective authors (Andrée and Massimo) and recorded.

From this corpus, Andrée developed a sound plan using the sounds of the moment as well as her personal audio archives. The voices were blended with audio recordings captured through Andrée's window. These recordings were made of animals living nearby that made sounds during Andrée's meditation sessions.

The sound work “UN BAIN POUR S'ATTENDRIR” was performed in March 2025 in front of an audience in Montreal during the performance week of the major DOMUS project entitled “Les résonnances des plateformes”.
