Mel Gosselin

Updated: Sep 17

Mel Gosselin is a French-Canadian artist from Ottawa. Their background in classical piano and in choral ensembles informs their career in musical composition.

Their artistic practice has developed from a desire to explore music in an improvisational way. Their studies in sound recording techniques taught them the necessary digital production tools to express the musical waves of creativity that were held in until that point.

For a few years, Mel Gosselin has composed songs under the artist name Greenfield Ave. They released their first EP, “amours anonymes”, in March 2023. Since then, Mel has continued composing and hopes to release a new EP titled “Foundation” in the coming months.

Outside of their personal artistic practice, Mel has also been a sound technician for a few artists that are part of their network. In addition, their role at the Digital Arts Resource Centre has allowed them to apply their technical knowledge in sound and to share their skills with the region’s media arts community.
